About the Woodland Abode Project
5 Bedrooms | 6 Baths | 5810 sq ft
Built for a young, active couple with three kids in sports, this spacious home was designed with a foremost focus on family. The clients were looking for a home with a traditional aesthetic with modern sensibilities that would have plenty of space to raise their children and entertain their friends as well.
The home’s exterior is a study in texture, with cedar shake siding and Marvin windows painted white to contrast with the dark-stained, statement-making double front doors and matching cedar garage doors, each flanked by elegant gas lanterns.
With two islands and a butler’s pantry, the kitchen offers plenty of space for food prep, while the formal dining room and home office both face the front of the home with French doors that open up to the outdoors.
Custom-stained white oak floors, four gas-burning fireplaces, and luxury lighting including a series of stylish chandeliers in the bedrooms are just some of the artisan elements found within the home. Other thoughtful details personalized to the family’s needs include an oversized gear closet and extra-deep garage to store sports apparel and equipment.
The main-floor sunroom, which features an impressive floor-to-ceiling Chatham stone fireplace surround and tiled floor, acts as an extension of the home — opening up to the backyard in the warmer months with a 16-foot sliding glass door that, when closed, allows for great views and a connection to nature.
The basement, referred to as the home’s “party central,” provides a wealth of opportunities for entertaining, including a full bar, game room, and golf simulator.
