This extensive Lake Minnetonka renovation transformed an existing home into a functional, comfortable family home designed around life on the lake. While the original structure provided the starting point, the project became a nearly complete gut renovation, with only limited portions of the existing home ultimately reused.

The goal was to create a home that worked for a young family’s everyday life while taking full advantage of its Lake Minnetonka setting. The floor plan and living spaces were rethought to improve function, flow and the connection between the home, family gathering spaces and the water.

Rather than allowing the constraints of the existing house to dictate the final result, the renovation focused on what the family actually needed and how they wanted to live. Nearly every part of the home was reconsidered and rebuilt with that in mind.
