Tucked into a quiet street in Edina, Minnesota, the City Cottage on Branson is a custom City Homes build that lives up to every word of its name. Designed by Alexander Design Group and spanning 3,288 square feet across three bedrooms and three bathrooms, this home is organic in spirit, classic in proportion, and elegant in detail at every turn.

The main level moves with an ease that feels effortless and considered at once. The living room is layered with warmth, shiplap, brushed gold lighting, and a tucked-away pocket office that keeps daily life organized without announcing itself. The kitchen is dressed in Hanstone quartz surfaces, a custom wood hood, and a full Sub-Zero and Wolf appliance suite, a space as suited to quiet weeknight dinners as it is to entertaining. The main-level owner’s suite offers a grand bathroom anchored by a unique soaking tub that flows naturally into a separate shower, and an open-air deck just beyond connects the bedroom and sunroom to the outdoors. Downstairs, two generous bathrooms, an exercise room, and a media room with a step-up bar complete a lower level built for the full rhythm of life.

And then there is the detail that speaks most quietly and means the most. A future elevator space, planned from the very beginning, is already built into the design of this Edina custom home, a small but significant decision that reflects a much larger commitment. The City Cottage on Branson was built with aging in place at its core, designed so that its owners can live comfortably, safely, and independently for years to come.
