Designed as a second home for a family who wanted the ultimate place to gather, play and entertain, this Edina residence was created with one goal in mind: make it a home everyone wants to come to.

One of the most important parts of the design was making this new home feel as though it had always belonged with the family’s existing home next door. The façade was carefully designed to complement the neighboring residence so the two homes read as one cohesive property. A real cedar shake roof, brick finished with a German schmear, and timeless French-inspired architecture give the exterior an established character and help connect old and new.

Inside, the home is all about enjoying time together. A golf simulator and indoor basketball sport court provide year-round recreation, while the pool creates a natural gathering place during the warmer months. A dedicated home office adds everyday function without taking away from the home’s focus on entertaining.

Despite all of its amenities, the goal was never to make it feel like a private club. It was designed to feel like a home—warm, inviting and ready to be filled with family and friends.

The result is truly a second home built for having it all: a place to work, play, entertain, relax and spend time together, while appearing from the outside as though it has always been part of the property.
