Tucked along the quiet shores of Shorewood’s Enchanted Pointe, this lakefront renovation by City Homes brings new life to a home already rich with design history. Years ago, we partnered with the previous owners to remodel the main level—reworking the kitchen layout, opening up the living space, and framing views of the lake. When the home changed hands, the new homeowners returned to us with a vision of their own, inviting us to continue the transformation and tailor the space to their family’s lifestyle.

With design by Liquid Pink Interiors, the renovation prioritized both beauty and function. We reconfigured the lower level into a private guest retreat, complete with its own fireplace, lounge, and ensuite bath—all with lake access. To solve structural challenges like low ceilings and a central beam, we embraced the architecture by incorporating it into the spatial flow and adding pocket doors that visually center the room. Light, modern finishes and custom storage solutions made the lower level feel open and elevated.

Upstairs, the owner’s suite received a thoughtful refresh—refinished hardwood floors, new windows, and a complete transformation of the ensuite bathroom. We replaced the oversized soaking tub with a spacious walk-in shower, relocated the toilet to maximize usable space, and added double vanities and custom linen storage. The result is a spa-like haven with lake views from every corner.

The kitchen received finishing touches unique to the new owners, while the laundry room and mudroom were fully reimagined for day-to-day ease. By expanding the layout and adjusting the garage entry, we added integrated cabinetry, bench seating, and additional storage. A neighboring powder room was redesigned in response to structural limitations—ultimately becoming one of the most charming spaces in the home with bold wallpaper and thoughtful cabinetry.

From its sunken living room bar to its basement transformation, this home reflects how layered renovations—spanning multiple homeowners—can evolve with time while preserving the integrity of place. We were first brought in by the previous owners to reimagine the main floor living and kitchen areas—then years later, when the home changed hands, the new owners returned to us to continue the renovation and personalize the space to reflect their own lifestyle.
