This Reggie Award-winning home was designed for an active family, with spaces that are sophisticated enough for entertaining but comfortable and fun enough for everyday family life. Warm wood floors and ceiling beams, black architectural details, natural stone and unexpected touches of color give the home personality without sacrificing its timeless feel.

The main level is open and welcoming, with the kitchen and family room designed as the center of the home. The kitchen makes a statement with dark cabinetry, brass lighting and a detailed tile backsplash, while exposed wood beams carry into the adjoining living spaces. A floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace anchors the family room, surrounded by windows that take advantage of the home’s wooded setting. A screened porch continues that connection outdoors with a vaulted wood ceiling, stone fireplace and large screened openings.

Upstairs was designed differently than a typical bedroom level. The primary suite occupies one side, while the children’s bedrooms are on the other, connected by a central loft gathering space with a full-height bookcase. It’s a comfortable place for the family to read, hang out or be together without having to go downstairs.

We also took advantage of spaces created naturally by the architecture. One child’s bedroom includes a ladder leading to a cozy loft tucked into the roofline, turning otherwise unused volume into a special retreat. Above the garage, another hidden area became a comfortable kids’ game and hangout space—the kind of room children immediately claim as their own.

The full walkout lower level adds even more space for an active family, including a sport court and exercise room, while large windows and direct access to the yard keep the lower level bright and connected to the rest of the home.

What makes this home memorable isn’t simply its size or amenities. It’s the way every available space was considered as an opportunity—from hidden rooms and lofts for the kids to gathering spaces for the whole family. The result is a home that’s beautiful and polished, but also playful, comfortable and designed to be truly lived in.
