Perched on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, the Lakeview Contemporary is a home that earns its name from every angle. Designed by Alexander Design Group, styled by Studio M Interiors, and built by City Homes as part of the 2019 Fall Parade of Homes, this three-story custom residence is a study in what happens when modern architecture is shaped entirely around the life lived inside it.

Three stories of glass rise to meet the lake, drawing panoramic water views into every level of the home and filling each room with the kind of natural light that changes by the hour. The main level flows with quiet confidence, moving from the gourmet kitchen outfitted with premium appliances by All, Inc. and custom cabinetry by Danners Cabinets, through the living and dining spaces and into a sun-warmed sunroom, every room oriented toward the water as though the lake itself sets the pace. Timberline Hardwood flooring anchors the space in warmth, while Marvin Windows frame each view with the precision they deserve. Geometric forms and rich material textures play off one another throughout, creating an interior that feels both sharp and genuinely inviting.

Upstairs, five bedrooms and four bathrooms offer space without sacrificing intimacy. A generous family loft anchors the level, while the owner’s suite opens to a private lakeside balcony, a place to begin and end the day with the water in full view. The spa bath beyond it is unhurried and considered, designed for restoration as much as routine.

The lower level belongs entirely to living well. A media room with a full bar, a play and exercise room, a sixth bedroom and bath, all spaces built for the full breadth of life, from celebrated gatherings to quiet evenings that stretch long into the night.

Outside, Yardscapes has drawn the design language down to the grounds, connecting the home to its natural setting with the same care found within. James Hardie siding, engineered for Minnesota’s harshest seasons, ensures the exterior endures as beautifully as it presents. Framing and custom closets crafted by Scherer Bros. Lumber Co. and seamless home automation by In-Focus Systems complete a home that performs as thoughtfully as it looks, and photographed in full by Scott Amundson Photography, it looks extraordinary.

Six bedrooms, six bathrooms, a four-car garage, and a front-row seat to one of Minnesota’s most beloved lakes. Built by City Homes, the Lakeview Contemporary is not simply a custom home. It is a place where the water finds its way inside and stays.
