The 2026 Summer Artisan Home — Edina

In the heart of Edina, this Artisan Home blends timeless architecture with bold modern character. Set on a prominent corner lot across from a city park, it was designed for a homeowner settling into a new chapter — a residence that feels grounded yet elevated, complementing the established neighborhood while standing apart through thoughtful design, craftsmanship, and personality rather than trend.

The palette is calm and confident, pairing warm natural materials with moments of moody contrast: white oak, limestone, quartzite, bronze, and concrete recur throughout, with walls moving from Benjamin Moore Simply White on the main floor to a color-drenched Sherwin-Williams Iron Ore den and Chantilly Lace primary bedroom. High-end selections elevate daily life — integrated Sub-Zero refrigeration, a custom La Cornue range, Dornbracht plumbing, Rocky Mountain solid bronze hardware, and whole-home Lutron Caséta lighting.

Outside, dramatic black detailing and steep architectural rooflines create a confident presence, while expansive black-framed windows flood the interior with light. Inside, seven-inch character-grade white oak floors in a custom dark stain run throughout, grounded by a custom metal stair railing. The gathering room features white oak shiplap, painted box beams, and an Alabama Shadow Vein limestone fireplace; the adjacent four-season den adds an enameled shiplap ceiling and custom concrete fireplace. The designer kitchen pairs full white oak cabinetry with the La Cornue range beneath an alabaster plaster hood, Sub-Zero refrigeration, and Taj Mahal satin quartzite counters, flowing into a dining room with built-in buffet and a powder bath with custom leathered granite sink and locally made Hennepin Made pendant.

Upstairs, the vaulted primary suite is a private retreat with a white oak shiplap ceiling and a spa-inspired bath of honed White Macaubas stone with a full Dornbracht suite. Two additional en-suite bedrooms — including an upgraded children’s bath with soaking tub and waterfall shower — plus upper-level laundry complete the floor. The lower level offers a media room, wet bar and lounge, guest bedroom, full bath, and exercise room, all warmed by wool carpet.
Every space is practical, welcoming, and built for longevity — reflecting the interior design of The Sitting Room, the architectural vision of David Charlez Designs, and the craftsmanship of City Homes.
